2 for 10 bucks character slots would be awesome, but it'l probably never happen. But they might as well considering now you can buy prophecies for 20 bucks essentially giving you 4 slots, but that would require you to dual account. However at 10 bucks a slot, its the same price you'd pay for the extra 2 slots from another campaign. So odd are it won't happen.

In reality, unless you are a new player, why would you want a new slot? Mule? Storage?
I think we all are just waiting for GW2 and as soon as that one come's out, there would be harly anyone in GW1.

Besides, GW1 without new content is kinda smelling funny.

I was actually excited and thought that this was a legit offer. I'm actually letdown.

As an aside, I doubt that ArenaNet would ever lower the price of the slots.

As for simply buying new accounts for character slots, that is fine and dandy for mules, but to get a character to play, you are likely going to want to be able to do all the campaigns, etc.

Poor thread title choice. I have 3 mules and one of each profession, I really don't need any more slots. I'd rather see them selling extremely discounted rates of individual campaigns in favor of "finishing" accounts and avoiding buying the trilogy. In my mind, the prices of the 3 games individually should add up *exactly* to the price of the trilogy. This benefits older players as much as new players. So if the trilogy is $50, say $10 for Prophecies, $15 for Factions, $25 for Nightfall (or so). Remember when Amazon had Prophecies at $5 a pop? They sold like hotcakes.

This wouldn't take any sales away from the Trilogy version, either. In my mind, the Trilogy version if for new players you're wanting to get into the game or who have been curious about it and can now pick up every campaign in a bundle. Mimicking the price of the trilogy through lowering cost of individual campaigns encourages players missing a campaign to fill their account and not feel ripped off by paying 1/2 of what it costs for the whole game to get 1/3 of the game.

Clearly, having Prophecies at $10 makes it the clear choice for character slots, as you could get 2 slots from adding a Prophecies key. And to that I say -- who cares? Are they really making that much money on character slots that they couldn't halve the price as suggested? This funnels the price of the entire game down and makes for potential renewed purchases from older members. Personally, if Factions and NF were lowered to a price at which you'd pay, proportionally, for the Trilogy, I'd probably get two of each for my secondary and tertiary accounts created during the $5 Amazon fiasco.

I would have bought a bunch at half off. Regular price is too much. The trilogy regularly sells for around $40 at GoGamer, which is 8 slots ($5 each).

They should do a "buy 4 slots for $20" type deal.
